HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is for both new learners and those refreshing their existing skills. It is recommended that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is updated every 12 months.
This short course is specifically designed to provide students with the knowledge to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. Areas covered include introduction to first aid principles, airway and breathing management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation.
Students will be required to demonstrate that they have the required knowledge and skills necessary to manage an unconscious, non-breathing casualty to the arrival of medical aid.
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the unit; HLTAID009- Cardio- Pulmonary Resuscitation.
This unit of competence is nationally recognised and provides individuals with a valuable outcome that can be applied throughout Australia.
Information about fees and charges is provided in the schedule of fees and charges which will have been included in your pre-enrolment information package. The basic course fees are: $100 per person.
