This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.

Full time (day)
Students are required to undertake one-day face to face Class of 6 Hours

This Booklet contains important information about a student’s rights and obligations, such as their right to privacy, a safe training environment, right to complaint or appeal an assessment decision, meeting course progress requirement and maintaining appropriate student behaviour. It is important that person applying for enrolment must have had reviewed this information first.
Students are expected to bring along notebook and pen to take notes, may also bring a laptop.
Face-to-Face
Each participant enrolling in a course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number to obtain their certificate or qualification when studying nationally recognised training in Australia. A USI gives you access to your online USI account which will help keep all your training records together. Certificates and Statements of Attainment cannot be issued without this number.
